My Story

I travel because I am curious about the world and my place in it.

I once travelled for love. Maybe, one day, I’ll tell you that story.

Now I travel for music, scenery, food, and experiences.
I travel for the feeling of standing somewhere new and realising how much there is still left to discover.
But more than anything, I travel to reconnect with myself.
Somewhere between responsibilities, routines, and everyday life, it is easy to lose touch with the curious child I once was, the one who looked at the world with wonder and believed there was always something waiting beyond the horizon.
Travel brings me back to that feeling.

It reminds me to stay curious, to keep exploring, and to never stop asking what lies beyond the next corner.
Perhaps that is the real reason I travel. Not to escape life, but to reconnect with the part of myself that never stopped wondering.

The Shape of Distance is an attempt to collect my experiences through travelling in one place. Some are collected with my eyes, some with my ears, some through taste, and some are simply feelings that stayed with me long after the journey ended.

I am not entirely sure a blog can hold all of those things, but I am willing to try.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Few Things About Me

  • I always have a plan, even if it changes along the way.
  • Sometimes I return to the same destination to rewrite a memory and experience a place through different eyes.
  • I take more photographs than I will ever organise.
  • Many of my trips begin with a concert ticket.
